The small budget movie was directed by V V Vinayak and grossed a huge box office collection. It was later remade in Kannada and Bengali languages. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film surpassed its budget of Rs 15 crore to make a huge collection of Rs 55 crore on the box office.
